Alexander Ehlers advises the stakeholders in the healthcare system on all legal and strategic issues. His client base includes in particular national and international pharmaceutical companies and medical device manufacturers. The advice covers all health policy and social law issues as well as questions regarding the reimbursement of medical services and pharmaceuticals/medical devices. Alexander Ehlers also advises companies on regulatory matters. Furthermore, his area of practice includes advising medical service providers in the outpatient and inpatient sector.

Dr. Rybak is one of EEP's equity partners and (Co-)Head of the department. He advises companies (national and international), physicians, professional associations and authorities in all relevant issues in the field of medical law / life sciences. He advises pharmaceutical companies and manufacturers of medical devices, but also food manufacturers, producers of cosmetics, service and homecare providers etc. on all essential aspects of commercial, medical and life science law. His area of practice comprises the fields of Market Access / Reimbursement and Regulatory Affairs, but also all aspects of Unfair Competition and comliance, issues of health policy, as well as strategic counseling and Public Policy Advisory. Dr. Rybak is a competent specialist with respect to all issues regarding the (early) benefit assessment, market access strategies, eligibility for reimbursement or prescription of drugs and medical products as well as digital health applications. Research and Teaching: Dr. Rybak has a lectureship at the University of Bayreuth in the subject of health and life sciences law. Dr. Rybak is also a lecturer at the School of Tax and Business Law of the University of Münster. Dr. Rybak is the author of numerous publications and holds numerous lectures and courses. He is also in demand as lecturer in companies within the framework of executive and staff trainings.

Senior Associate Horst Bitter has worked as a medical lawyer for more than 15 years – since 2002, at our partnership -. He focuses on the counselling of companies especially in the fields of Unfair Competition Act (UWG)/Law on Advertising in the Health-Care System (HWG), German Drugs Act (AMG), Pharmacy Act (ApoG), German Medical Devices Act (MPG), compliance, corruption and SGB V (Code of Social Law). Moreover, he advises physicians and professional partnerships in matters under company/partnership, liability and criminal law. He disposes of many years of experience in negotiations in and out of court.

Originating from a long line of entrepreneurs in the pharmaceutical industry, he has an extensive network within the healthcare industry and combines corporate knowledge with legal expertise.His legal work focuses on advising pharmaceutical companies and medical device manufacturers in Germany and abroad, in particular on matters concerning regulatory and competition law as well as the reimbursement and prescribability of drugs and medical devices. In addition, Julian Bartholomä regularly assists on M&A transactions within the healthcare industry and provides comprehensive advice in the context of ongoing regulatory affairs and complex restructuring projects. Last but not least, he also advises clients in the context of current political developments and supports clients in developing creative and pragmatic solutions.

Nicole Schwiegk is a Senior Associate in EEPs’ Munich office and primarily advises national and international pharmaceutical companies and medical device manufacturers in pharmaceutical-, medicine- and business law and in the area of life sciences. In particular, she covers regulatory matters as well as market access, drug advertising and competition law and contract drafting. In addition, she is involved in several procedures with regard to the (early) benefit assessment and in corporate transactions.
