Clemens Schalast, born in Frankfurt am Main, studied law at the Universities of Frankfurt am Main, Hamburg and Geneva. During his legal internship he participated in international and European law postgraduate programs of the Universities of Paris and Urbino (Diplôme de Droit Comparé). This was followed by six months at the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg.

After completing his Second State Law Examination, Clemens Schalast worked for an international commercial law firm in Hamburg in the areas business, European and media law. In 1995, he took, a position at Deutsche Lufthansa AG in Frankfurt, where his first of all worked in the area collective bargaining policy and then – until joining Schalast and Partner – as specialist advisor to the division HR director. His key tasks involved issues resulting from the restructuring and privatization of Lufthansa and the structural realignment of the company.

Clemens Schalast heads our law firm’s labor law practice. He is a certified specialist attorney for labor law and has been a notary (Official residence: Frankfurt am Main) since 2011. His work in particular focuses on M&A management and support, post-merger restructuring and collective bargaining issues.

Besides, Clemens Schalast is a lecturer at the private University EC Europa Campus in Karlsruhe.
