Position

Ahmed is the head of Sharkawy & Sarhan’s TMT and Retail & Consumer Goods sectors. Ahmed advises companies on complex commercial and regulatory projects, data protection, e-commerce, digital payments, cloud computing, ride hailing, data privacy and security, artificial intelligence, e-signature and consumer protection law. He advises major financial institutions, technology companies and numerous retail clients in various sectors including food and beverage, health and beauty, retail and fashion and automotive. Prior to co-founding Sharkawy & Sarhan, Ahmed worked as an in-house counsel first with a major industrial group and subsequently as the Country Legal Counsel for Citigroup in Egypt. He has LL.M in International Banking and Financial Laws from Boston University. He was selected by the IFLR1000 as a leading lawyer for the last 10 years. He has more than 20 years of experience in various fields.
