Frédéric Manin, Ph.D, has been a member of the Paris bar since 1996 and joined Advant Altana as a partner in 2017. Mr. Manin specializes in EU and French Competition/Antitrust law, for large French and foreign companies active in the insurance, automotive, services (IT, financial), energy, construction, health, defense, retail or entertainment sectors.

In the context of long-run assignments, he represented Air France-KLM in the over 10-year cartel proceedings against major oil companies and worked alongside new entrants in the context of the opening of the French online gaming market through EU and French proceedings.

Since 2011, he has managed over 15 merger control filings in the insurance sector, which has made him an expert in that field.

He participated in Phase II proceedings (up to litigation before the Conseil d’Etat, French highest administrative Court) and contributed to obtaining clearance, most often unconditional, of complex mergers.

Mr. Manin has been designated an Expert within the ICN (International Compe-tition Network) in the «Cartels» and «Mergers» Committees. He regularly contributes to the issuance of opinions and contributions (with Cercle Montesquieu, a legal think-tank, or to the French Competition Authority). He was a professional senior lecturer for over 15 years.
