David Urbanec is a founding partner of the law firm DUNOVSKÁ & PARTNERS with 25 years of experience in advocacy. He began his professional career in 1996 at one of the first private law firms in Prague, where he worked as a partner from 2006 until the end of 2008.

For more than 20 years, David has specialized primarily in banking and finance and mergers and acquisitions, including complex financial and corporate restructuring. His long-term collaboration with prominent and demanding clients such as Česká spořitelna, a.s., ČSOB, a.s., HSBC Continental Europe, Aricoma a.s., and Odyssey 44, spol. s r.o. on large and complex projects reflects the quality and results of his work. Clients in the financial sector particularly value David’s deep understanding of the practical and technical aspects of banking finance and the industry environment.

David’s expertise also extends to mandates in various other areas – real estate, litigation and arbitration, IT, and compliance – enabling him to provide clients with a comprehensive legal perspective and advice.

David is an active member of the international legal community, serving as a correspondent for the International Bar Association (IBA) and as an arbitrator at the Arbitration Court attached to the Czech Chamber of Commerce and Agricultural Chamber of the Czech Republic. Since 2016, he has been a member of the First Senate of the Review Committee of the Czech National Bank’s Banking Council, reflecting his high level of expertise and respect in the banking sector.
