Jan Vavřina is a founding partner of the law firm DUNOVSKÁ & PARTNERS. He began his professional career in the legal department of the Land Registry Office for Prague. In 2000, he transitioned to advocacy, joining one of the first private law firms in Prague, where he worked as a partner from 2006 until the end of 2008.

For over 20 years, Jan has specialized in litigation and arbitration, banking, transactions, financial restructuring, bankruptcies, and reorganizations. As an attorney, he has gained extensive experience handling major bankruptcies (Přerovské strojírny, Zbrojovka Vsetín, SAZKA, Sberbank CZ). Since 2010, he has also been an insolvency trustee.

He has served as an examiner appointed by the Ministry of Justice of the Czech Republic for insolvency trustee exams. As a licensed insolvency trustee, he has managed significant reorganizations and bankruptcies. He is a member of the Czech Bar Association’s expert section on insolvency law.

Jan is a sought-after expert in real estate and construction projects due to his unique combination of technical and legal education and experience. His expertise spans transactions, contract law, and related disputes. He also has a strong profile in IT and media law. Jan is recognized for his ability to understand the economic, technical, and legal aspects of issues and his proactive approach to problem-solving. Since 2018, he has served as an arbitrator at the Arbitration Court attached to the Czech Chamber of Commerce and the Agricultural Chamber of the Czech Republic.

His professional knowledge and approach were recognized by the international legal directory The Legal 500, where he was recommended as a leading expert in banking, finance, and capital markets.
