Career

Alexander Lukas advises and represents clients in various fields of intellectual property law, in particular on patent law. His practice focuses on strategic advice and representation in complex national and cross-border patent infringement and nullity proceedings.

Alexander Lukas studied law at the University of Cologne with a focus on intellectual property and competition law. He then began his PhD at the Institute for Intellectual Property and Copyright Law at the University of Cologne. While working on his PhD, he also worked as a research fellow.

Alexander Lukas received his PhD in 2021 with his thesis “Keyseller – The legitimacy of the resale of video game product keys on the internet without the consent of the rights holder under copyright law”.

Alexander Lukas completed his legal clerkship at the Higher Regional Court of Cologne, working, inter alia, at the Federal Office for Information Security, for an international law firm in the field of IT law and for a company offering translation services using artificial intelligence.
