Career

Sofia is a qualified Αttorney at Law (in Athens and Nicosia Bar), political scientist, and mediator. Her main areas of expertise encompass EU institutional law, and the internal market, namely on the following sectoral policies: environment, climate, energy, investment, and state aid law. As a legal practitioner, she has been advising clients in a wide array of areas of law, while she has also handled numerous cases before the Court of Justice of the EU and the European Court of Human Rights. Sofia also holds extensive experience from positions within the EU institutions, as well as in the private sector in Brussels. As an academic, she is a Senior Research Fellow of the Hellenic Energy Regulatory Institute, a collaborator of the European Policy Centre of Serbia and the University of Cagliari and a Visiting Professor at the Catholic University of Lille in France.
