Position

Founding Partner of Zunarelli - Studio Legale Associato. He advises major companies and institutions in the maritime, air, road, port and airport sectors, as well as in the public services, insurance and international trade sectors in Court and arbitration proceedings, and in domestic and international commercial negotiations. He has been a Consultant of many Port Authorities on issues concerning concessions of terminal and port activities; of several Airport Authorities on issues concerning state aid and competition regulation in airport activities; of the Italian Government as advisor to the Italian Ministry of Infrastructures and Transport on issues concerning public procurement for the building and operation of infrastructures and the concession of transport services, and of a number of Regional and Local Governments in Italy for the regulation of transport activities. 

Career

Stefano Zunarelli is widely acknowledged as one of the most renowned legal experts in the field of transportation law, air law and maritime law. He has taken part - on behalf of the Italian Government - in meetings and activities of the international organizations of his area of expertise (IMO, UNCITRAL and UNCTAD) by contributing to the drafting of several international Conventions in the maritime and transportation fields. Directorships: Deputy Director of “Il Diritto Marittimo”; Director of the book series “Quaderni del Diritto Marittimo”. Publications: four books, several encyclopedia entries and numerous articles.
