Position

He is a member of the Managing Board of the Firm and resident Partner of Zunarelli’s Trieste office, managing the Firm’s activity in the North East of Italy. He is the head of the Litigation Department of the Firm. He is qualified to represent Clients before the Italian Supreme Court. His main areas of practice are maritime and transport law, commercial law, civil law, litigation and arbitration. He has vast experience in litigation and arbitration with regard to terminal operator liability, multimodal, sea and land transport, international freight forwarding, recreational boating and building contracts. He advises companies in commercial, corporate and M&A matters. He also advises in the fields of direct foreign investment and of international trade with China.

Career

Alberto Pasino has been a Partner of the Firm since its foundation. Resident Partner of the Firm’s Trieste Office since 1996, in 2006 he started up – and still collaborates with – Zunarelli’s Office in Shanghai, where he lived for a long time. He was a member of the committee appointed by the Italian Ministry of Infrastructures and Transportation for the drafting of the 2005 Italian Yachting Code. He is a Court appointed expert for shipping matters. He holds seminars at university and master degree courses and is speaker at congresses on transport law, maritime law and international commercial law. He has published several articles on those subjects.

Memberships

He has been a member of the Trieste Bar Association (since 1995). He is an active member of several associations: he sits in the Board of Directors of AIDIM (The Italian Maritime Law Association), chairs the Transport Law Commission of the Union Internationale des Avocats and chaired the Propeller Club - Port of Trieste for eight years. He is the Friuli Venezia Giulia territorial representative of Associazione Studi Legali Associati (ASLA), and is the coordinator of its Transport Committee. Since 2015 he has been a member of the Steering Committee of the journal Il Diritto Marittimo.
