Position

Ms Dina Kouvelou is a Partner, head of the Data Protection and co-head of the TMT and Digital Business practices of Nikolinakos & Partners LLP. Dina is recommended as a leading TMT legal counsel by the most prestigious international legal directories.

Career

In addition to telecoms regulatory issues, Dina focuses to a significant effect on data privacy, e-commerce, information security, risk management and on-line gaming & betting. Dina also has vast experience of large outsourcing IT projects and advises clients on every aspect concerning online payment; cloud-based services; IoT; big data; AI; software licensing; interactive entertainment; advertising and consumer protection issues.

During the last 20 years, Dina’s professional career has spanned TMT and data protection policy and law, competition law and corporate/commercial law experience in, amongst others, the following roles: - General Counsel and Head of Legal & Regulatory Affairs in a leading alternative fixed telecoms operator and in a mobile operator in Greece; - senior competition law and regulatory policy advisor in the Legal Department of the National Regulatory Authority (EETT); and - legal consultant in regulatory, competition law and commercial law projects with Greek and international law firms and consultancies.

Dina is certified by the International Association of Privacy Professionals: Certified International Privacy Professional / Europe (CIPP/E). 

Dina is also involved in all aspects of corporate governance and is active in corporate transactions (mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures), as well as change of control transactions. She also counsels businesses in connection with structuring, drafting and negotiating transactions that include shareholders’ agreements, supply and distribution agreements, marketing and outsourcing.

With regard to competition law, her litigation experience includes, inter alia, claims for refusals to deal, price discrimination, market dominance, predation, leveraging, bundling and tying.
