Career

Marina Castelli-Joos is specialized in corporate and commercial law. Marina was involved in several Swiss landmark corporate acquisitions throughout her career and is familiar with a wide variety of economic activities and industries, such as the life sciences, banking, hotel and luxury goods sectors.

With over 10 years of experience, Marina mainly advises and represents international and domestic clients, ranging from start-ups and SMEs to multinational companies, large family offices and venture capital funds, in relation to corporate and commercial legal matters. Such matters include business transfers, M&A, corporate restructurings, private equity, venture capital, debt financing and exit transactions, as well as corporate governance and commercial contracts.

Prior to joining id est avocats Sàrl in 2020, Marina was a senior associate at a major Swiss commercial law firm. Before passing the Swiss bar exam in 2011, Marina studied at Harvard Law School and at the Universities of Geneva and Lucerne and received several distinctions and awards during her academic career.

Marina regularly publishes in Swiss and foreign specialized journals and gives lectures in her fields of practice. Marina was formerly the lead Swiss law expert for several chapters of the World Bank Doing Business Report.

Marina is fluent in English, French and Spanish. She also has a working knowledge of German and Italian.
