Career

Andrew has more than 20 years of experience advising employers in various business sectors on complex and important cross-border employment issues. He is a solicitor advocate with experience in Employment Tribunal, Employment Appeal Tribunal, High Court, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court cases. He advises on the employment aspects of internal and regulatory investigations, in particular in the financial services sector, on disputes and negotiations with trade unions and other employee representatives, corporate governance and transactions, including insolvencies.

Andrew has contributed to various publications and co-authored the UK section of the European employment law textbook “Arbeitsrecht in Europa” and the chapter on “Employees as Directors” in the ICSA Guide for Directors.

The team is co-headed by corporate lawyer Malcolm Lombers, who offers extensive experience in handling large partnership structures, mergers, disposals for major accountancy firms and joint ventures, and Alan Watts, who is frequently instructed on high profile partnership disputes for hedge funds, global law firms, professional service firms and real estate organisations. Complementing their employment practices, the ‘capable and effective litigator’ Tim Leaver and the ‘brilliant’ Nick Wright handle contentious and non-contentious partnership work. Andrew Taggart’s expertise lies in disputes, investigations and appointments and exits of members and employees of LLPs, while Chris Bushell focuses on contentious matters particularly in the asset management space.
