Career

Sebastian is an IP litigator, with a focus on life sciences.

Sebastian is recognised by the legal directories as a leading patent litigator and regularly acts for clients such as Roche, Gilead, Takeda, Sanofi in UK litigation, EPO oppositions and in coordinating actions on a pan-European basis. He has also represented clients in two important references on SPC matters to the CJEU and has been involved in three further CJEU references.

Sebastian is a solicitor advocate with rights of audience in all civil proceedings in the UK and he is a Unified Patents Court representative. He is a member of the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property and an associate member of the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys.

Sebastian is also a guest lecturer at the University of London (on the Certificate of Intellectual Property course and the LLM course in International and Comparative Patent Law) and a tutor on the Oxford University Diploma in Intellectual Property Law and Practice.

Sebastian is recognised as Leading Individual in Pharmaceuticals and Biotechnology, and led the team which recently won "European Cross-Border Patent and Regulatory Team of the Year 2024" at the MIP Awards.
