Position

Nick is a Partner in the Herbert Smith Freehills London Employment team.

Career

Nick studied at the University of Cambridge before joining Herbert Smith Freehills in 2010. He became a Partner at the firm in May 2022.

Nick has built a reputation for providing responsive, user-friendly and pragmatic advice on partnership and employment issues. In addition to advisory work, Nick guides clients through transactions, investigations and disputes, including litigation in the Employment Tribunal and High Court. Nick has extensive experience on advising on disputes involving discrimination, whistleblowing and restrictive covenant issues.

Nick advises clients across a range of sectors, with a particular focus on professional and financial services firms. Nick regularly delivers training to clients on various aspects of employment and partnership law. Nick works closely with colleagues based overseas to deliver advice on cross-border matters.

Over his career Nick has developed a substantial practice, regularly dealing with complex and high profile and sensitive employment and partnership matters, on both the contentious and non-contentious side. He has a strong following and acts as a trusted advisor to many businesses.
