Partner within the Residential Property Department

David studied law at Exeter University before completing his post graduate legal training at the University of the West of England.  He then trained and qualified with a large national commercial practice based in Bristol and qualified as a solicitor in 2007.  David returned to North Devon and joined Toller Beattie LLP in 2012 being made a partner in 2014.

Whilst he has significant experience of dealing with light commercial transactions his specialism is now residential conveyancing.  The majority of his working day is spent advising purchasers of New Build Homes across a range of residential developments in the South West.  He also acts for developers in establishing the legal paperwork for residential estates and then disposing of individual plots.

David is a third generation Arsenal fan and current Chairman of Lynton & Lynmouth AFC.

Outside of the office David is a keen sports fan and participant (particularly football, racket sports and golf).  To the detriment of his waistline he also very much enjoys socialising, cooking, eating and drinking decent ales (including those brewed at his sibling’s commercial brewery).  In what seems like another life he has previously acted as a County Court Advocate (undertaking over 1200 County Court hearings) and held a lease of his own Fish & Chip shop (another family obsession).
