Associate Solicitor within the Family Department

Zhenja is an Associate solicitor in the Family Department based in our Barnstaple office. She joined the firm in July 2024, having relocated from Bristol. She has a background in Civil Litigation however having experienced Family law during her training contract, she qualified as a Family Solicitor in 2019. Zhenja cares deeply about people and it is important to her that she can help clients through a difficult time in their lives.

Zhenja assists clients in all aspects of private family law, from the outset of a relationship in preparing nuptial agreements to supporting them through a relationship breakdown, resolving their finances and arrangements for their children. She particularly specialises in advising cohabiting couples following a relationship breakdown.

As a member of Resolution, her focus has always been to resolve matters in the most amicable, pragmatic and cost effective way possible, to negotiate the best possible outcome for clients and avoid court proceedings where possible. She has experience in several out of court resolution options such as round table meetings and private hearings. Where court proceedings are necessary, she ensures her clients feel fully supported throughout the process.

Zhenja has been recognised in the Legal 500 directory 2024 for being “understanding, calm, thorough and professional” as well as “genuinely sympathetic” and “very supportive”.

Zhenja is the Co-Chair of National Young Resolution Committee and has recently joined Devon Young Resolution, which allows her to meet with and support other young family practitioners in their careers and keep at the forefront of changes in Family law.

Outside of work, Zhenja has a young family who keeps her busy and they enjoy spending time on the beautiful local beaches.
