After a few years in a law firm specialising in intellectual property law, Stefano joined the in-house world in the petrochemical sector, where he worked for several years on international contracts (licensing-in and out) on behalf of a JV of the Shell Group. In 2005, Stefano joined the Helsinn Healthcare Group, then a major US pharmaceutical company in Italy, and finally the Healthcare Division of the US multinational General Electric, where he gradually held positions of increasing responsibility until he became Global General Counsel of the Pharmaceuticals and Life Sciences Division of the GE Group, based in London. Since 2022, Stefano has returned to private practice as an expert in the life sciences sector. He joined Orsingher Ortu – Avvocati Associati in 2024 as co-head of the life sciences practice group. In addition to Italy and the European Union, Stefano has excellent knowledge of the pharmaceutical and medical device regulatory systems in the United Kingdom, the United States and Japan. He is a compliance expert with in-depth knowledge of Legislative Decree 231/2001, the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and the UK Bribery Act. Stefano advises on complex FCPA cases before local authorities, the US Department of Justice (DOJ) and the US Security and Exchange Commission (SEC).

Stefano Giberti graduated with honours from the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in 1996.

He was admitted to practice in 2001.
