MBH successfully secures a favorable CRCICA ad-hoc arbitral award for one of the largest master developers in the Red Sea
We are pleased to announce that Matouk Bassiouny & Hennawy (“MBH”) Arbitration Group has successfully secured a favorable ad-hoc arbitral award in an arbitration hosted by CRCICA for one of the largest master developers in the Red Sea. The case consisted of a claim of nearly USD 11 million filed by the opponent party against our client and a counterclaim filed by our client.
The Tribunal ruled in favor of our client and dismissed all opposing party claims. Our client was awarded the claimed compensation subject to the counterclaim in addition to interest. Furthermore, the opponent party was obligated to concede some strategic land plots to our client and bear the full arbitration fees of the principal claim, the counterclaim, attorney fees, and the expenses of our firm.
The MBH team that handled this case consisted of Amr A. Abbas (Partner and Head of Arbitration), Mohamed Sallam (Counsel), Mohamed Samy (Counsel), and Khaled Abou El Wafa (Senior Associate).
Dr. Amr A. Abbas, Partner and Head of Arbitration, commented: “Another victory demonstrating Matouk Bassiouny Arbitration Group’s experience in the hospitality sector. Our team has successfully mastered a complex claim. I congratulate our client and the team for this well-deserved award.”
