Tom has dealt with clinical negligence claims and has a particular interest in maximum severity cases, having successfully resolved many claims with values well in excess of £5m.

He was significantly involved in the vCJD scheme (as negotiated by Irwin Mitchell on behalf of vCJD victims with the Department of Health), with specific responsibility for representing numerous family members of victims with their claims in respect of psychiatric injury and particular hardship under the most traumatic circumstances.

He has additional responsibility as a professional support lawyer for personal injury nationally, dealing with systems, processes, and regulatory compliance. Co-author of three chapters on damages in APIL’s guide to clinical negligence.
