Position

Partner in the personal injury division and head of Irwin Mitchell’s international personal injury, product liability and aviation law teams. Clive specialises in acting for the victims of severe brain and spinal injury arising overseas and in complex fatal accident and mass tort claims arising in the UK and overseas following aviation, marine, road traffic or other incidents. Clive has successfully represented thousands of victims in more than 300 group actions arising in numerous countries around the world. He has also acted in several precedent setting cases both in England and overseas and has won record awards of damages for a number of clients and for the families of those killed in fatal accidents. Author of several published articles and a contributor to several legal textbooks on international personal injury. Clive has chaired numerous international events and has regularly presented at International conferences and conventions across Europe and the US. He has been consulted on law reform issues by the European Parliament and the European Commission, The Law Society, The Consumers Association and the Ministry of Justice. He is a regular commentator in the media. Winner of the Birmingham Law Society ‘International Lawyer Of The Year 2013’.
