Career
Jagdip specialises in commercial litigation and contested probate matters, and has extensive experience in acting for SMEs, partnerships, sole traders and individuals. She works closely with her clients to understand their business and personal needs to achieve a speedy and cost effective resolution, whether that is issuing court proceedings or engaging in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR).
Jagdip has a varied caseload to include commercial litigation, property litigation, Companies Act disputes, Partnership disputes, insolvency disputes and construction disputes to name a few.
Recent examples of Jagdip’s work:
Successfully settled a shareholders dispute involving a family business and disputes relating to unpaid directors loans; Settled a contract dispute at mediation valued at £6 million; Representing a client in relation to a construction dispute worth in the excess of £1million; Regularly advising on restraining presentations of a winding up petitions; Successfully opposed an insolvency act claim relating to transactions at undervalue and preference payments; Advising clients who were subject to director disqualification proceedings and negotiated favourable undertakings Settled a professional negligence claim against an accountant; Advising commercial landlords on rent collection, lease renewals, break notices, termination of leases and dilapidations; Advising clients in partnership disputes; Advising a former employee of a company on his post termination restrictions; Advising clients in relation to trust disputes arising from ownership of property; Advising client in relation to claims bought by trustees in bankruptcy; Settled a dispute arising from prescriptive easements; Regularly advising farms in relation to various agricultural / farming disputesA keen advocate of ADR, Jagdip recommends mediation or other forms of ADR to save her clients costs and maintain commercial and personal relationships.
