Career

Sergey Marabyan heads the practice of criminal law and criminal proceedings at the firm. Joined Concern Dialog team in 2024.He worked as a judge in criminal cases for 10 years and held the positions of Anti-corruption Appellate and then Judge of the Anti-corruption Chamber of the Court of Cassation for the last 2 years. For 4 years, he also held the position of chairman of the Ethics and Disciplinary Committee of the RA General Assembly of Judges.

Before being appointed as a judge, he worked in the General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Armenia as the deputy head of the prosecution department.

He was a national expert for the Council of Europe, UNICEF, IDLO, and several other organisations on various issues in criminal justice (intervention measures, children's rights, judicial ethics, methods of investigating corruption crimes, etc.).

Along with practical work, he engages in scientific activities and teaches at Yerevan State University, the Academy of Justice, and the Academy of Advocacy. He is the author of several monographs and educational textbooks, as well as about five dozen scientific articles and other works.
