Managing Partner- Areas of Practice: Real Estate, Construction Law, Arbitration

Firas has been practicing law in Dubai, UAE for the past 18 years, and has acted as either a lead counsel or an arbitrator in more than fifty international commercial arbitrations, and conducted thousands of litigations before UAE Courts, with special focus on construction and real-estate disputes. He is the founder and managing partner of Bin Sevan Advocates & Legal Consultancy. Since it was established in 2011, the firm under Firas’s stewardship, has been involved in over 2000 litigation cases before Dubai and other UAE Courts. He has distinguished himself in a number of landmark cases involving major Dubai governmental companies and entities such as Dubai Land Department, Emaar, Nakheel and Meydan.

Firas contributed in nurturing the knowledge in the arbitration field in the UAE, and two of his studies were published by Thomson Reuters MENA. His article “Does the non-arbitrable become arbitrable in the light of Article 6 (2) of the new UAE Arbitration Law No (6) of 2018” was published by Thomson Reuters MENA in their May 2019 Issue, and his essay “The Dilemma of Challenging Arbitral Awards before UAE Courts under the new Arbitration Law No (6) of 2018” was published by Thomson Reuters MENA in their June 2019 issue.

He is a member of several Arbitration centres around the world, including the LCIA in London.

Firas Alchoufi is fluent in English and Arabic is his native language.
