Career

Sarah Long has over 15 years’ experience in competition law spanning private practice, government policy, and in-house roles.  Her UK and EU practice covers a wide variety of sectors, with a particular focus on online markets and the digital economy.

Noted for her particular expertise in digital markets, Sarah is currently advising a third party in relation to Google’s Privacy Sandbox commitments, and is regularly asked to speak on, and chair, panels related to the new UK digital markets regime. She is also an expert on distribution issues raised by e-commerce and has advised a number of leading consumer brands on their EU distribution strategies. Sarah is widely recognised in industry rankings and was identified as one of 30 most notable competition practitioners in private practice by Women@ in 2017 and listed in GCR’s 40 under 40 for 2020, recognised as a ‘Next Generation Partner’ in 2021, 2022 and 2023, has been recognised as a Future Leader by WWL since 2019, a ‘Global Leader’ since 2022 and a Thought Leader since 2023. Sarah is a thought leader on the intersection between competition law and gender inequality, and a passionate advocate for diversity and inclusion. Sarah is a CEDR qualified mediator, and was an editor of the Competition Law Journal for 12 years. She has recently been selected as a Committee Member for the Law Society Competition Section.
