Career

Rachida began her career as a lawyer in 2001 in the Amsterdam office of CMS where she was working for the firm’s major clients with a strong focus on cross-border work. She came to form part of the Dutch team that advised the European Commission on the main legal and technical challenges associated with cross-border transfers and redundancies as included in Directive 2001/23/EC. In 2008 Rachida joined The Hague team of Bird & Bird LLP where she has worked until January 2014, when she launched Sagiure together with her former colleagues.

She has contributed to numerous publications in the area of her specialization, including ‘Cross border Transfers and Redundancies’ (Tottel), and the ‘International Expatriate Employment Handbook’ (KluwerLaw).

Rachida is member of the Supervisory Board of the renowned Hermitage Museum in Amsterdam.

For 7 years Rachida has been chair of the People Platform Committee of the Dutch American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) that focuses on improving the investment climate in the Netherlands for US investors and multinationals. In 2022 Rachida passed on the baton to her colleague at Sagiure Madeleine Molster who now participates in the committee and Rachida remains an active Amcham member.

As from 2021, Rachida is a member of the Employment Steering Committee and a Gold Status advisor in Employment matters in IR Global, a multi-disciplinary professional services network that provides legal, accountancy, and financial advice to corporations around the world.

Education

Rachida holds a masters degree in Law (2002) from the University of Amsterdam, with a specialization in International Trade and Company law. Furthermore, Rachida holds and  Postgraduate degree in Employment Law and Company Law from the Radboud University (2008/2009) and the University of Amsterdam (2014/2015). 

She enrolled in the Executive Program of Nyenrode Business University “the New Board Program” (2022/2023) which covers all aspects of governance and leadership management.
