Career

Since being admitted to the bar in 2020 Dr Benedikt Walesch advises national and international companies of various industries in in all areas of intellectual property law as an Associate at Kather Augenstein.

As part of his studies at Heinrich Heine University of Dusseldorf, he completed the accompanying degree program “Anglo-American Law” and specialised in “Companies and Markets” and gained experience in business law and all areas of IP law already at an early stage.

Following his studies, Dr. Walesch completed his doctorate in the field of antitrust law, inter alia, on the question of “Determining the Market Conditions of Intermediaries in the electronic Distribution of Goods”.

After finishing his dissertation project with summa cum laude, Dr Benedikt Walesch worked as part of his legal clerkship at the European Commission (DG Competition), an international corporate law firm in Dusseldorf and in the legal department of a DAX company.

Parallel to his studies and while completing his doctorate, he worked at the Chair of Professor Dr Jan Busche for Civil Law and Intellectual Property Law, where he was, among other things, a research associate and teaching assistant.
