Managing Associate

Elena is a Managing Associate in our Intellectual Property practice. She is also a certified Intellectual Property counselor in the field of Trademarks and Geographical Indications. Elena is a highly organised, ambitious and dedicated young lawyer.

She has been fascinated by the dynamic field of IP for many years, having initially been inspired by her inventor father and his numerous patent registrations. Her admiration of the creative process, her respect and wonder at her clients ability to “make something from nothing” simply by envisioning it and her desire to secure protection for the ideas and products that result, is what drove her to specialise in IP. Her legal expertise, commitment to excellence and thorough attention to detail have  confirmed her place as one of the most outstanding, up and coming IP lawyers in Bucharest.

Her legal expertise encompasses a wide range of matters including IP registrations, as well as the management and maintenance of national and international registrations for trademarks, designs, models and patents. She regularly conducts searches for prior rights, drafts appropriate specifications, files applications and deals with any opposition to registration on behalf of her clients, as well as  advising them on other legal matters such as those related to domain names.

Elena’s experience also includes enforcement of intellectual property rights, social media related matters, advising on the prosecution of copyright and related rights (including infringement and anti-piracy related advice), as well as drafting and negotiating various agreements including licences, franchises and assignments. She works with both high profile individuals and companies in the industry, and particularly enjoys working with start-ups and new up and coming businesses.
