Metin graduated from the department of Political Science and Public Administration as the major and from Economics as the minor at Middle East Technical University (METU). He also took his MSc degree from Science and Technology Policy Studies department of METU and his MA degree of International Development Policy from Duke University, NC USA.

Prior to joining Nazalı as the competition law partner, Metin worked as competition law/policy specialist and case handler at the Turkish Competition Authority (TCA) during the period of 2004-2017. He also worked as consultant to TCA President and training coordinator of the Authority. He joined CK Energy in 2017 as Competition Compliance Director. His last work experience before Nazalı was at Tarım Kredi Holding where he worked as the General Manager of the Holding.

During his 13 years experience at Turkish Competition Authority, he took part in numerous cartel and dominant position cases and merger cases conducted by the Authority upon several industries such as cement, steel, chemicals, mining, banking and finansce, health, medicine, agriculture and services. He also worked at privatization cases of Erdemir (leading steel company), Başkentgaz (gas distribution company and default gas supplier of Ankara), several electricity distribution and generation companies, Mazıdağı Phosphate Mining. He took part in the teams that authored Electricity Market Inquiry Report in 2015 and several legislation such as Merger Regulation, Regulation for Access to File. Metin was also charged with coordinating training programs of junior specialists of the Authority and capacity building programs for Pakistan, Azerbaycan and Cyprus competition authorities.  He participated and contributed various international antitrust meetings such as OECD, ABA (American Bar Association), ERA (Academy of European Law), ICF (International Competition Law Forum). Metin consulted TCA President during the period of 2015-2017.

Metin joined CK Energy in 2017 as Competiton Compliance Director. CK Energy is the holding company of 3 leading distribution and retail companies. Metin as the leading compliance officer, assessed ongoing market activities of the companies, clarified possible antitrust risks of the CK group and reported top management to take necessary actions. He also led the team that carried out the legal defense against the ongoing TCA investigation.

Before joining Nazalı, Metin worked as General Manager of Tarım Kredi Holding, the holding company of 12 subsidiary companies that produce agricultural inputs and services. During his duty at Tarım Kredi Holding, he worked for the organizational structure and recruitment of the Holding, revised budgeting and KPI system of the subsidiaries and conducted market studies for agricultural inputs.
