Senior Associate

Youssef primarily focuses on corporate, mergers & acquisitions, IP, NGO, and competition law. He is also well versed in several other practice areas including dispute resolution, hospitality, labour law, banking & finance, and aviation.

Prior to joining the Firm, Youssef interned at several top-tier international law firms and performed a mini-pupilage with a top KC (King’s Counsel) in the United Kingdom and had the opportunity to assist on several major criminal cases.

Youssef advised on antitrust and competition cases amounting to over 1.5 billion Egyptian Pounds and has worked on many complex mergers & acquisitions transactions including the drafting, amending, and negotiating of complex multi-jurisdictional agreements. He has further assisted with major corporate and media-related matters.

Youssef has assisted in many large value asset-tracking and recovery cases and has been an active member of the arbitration team in several arbitrations as both claimant and respondent.

Youssef assists on several matters and disputes relating to fraud, employment, and competition. He also provides assistance to major e-commerce clients as well as actively representing clients in cyber-crime litigation.

Youssef participated in and passed both the Contractual and Legal Aspect Courses of Construction Agreements under FIDIC (CLAC). He further attended the first course of M&A conducted under the auspices the Egyptian Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) and the Habib Al Mulla Academy.

Furthermore, Youssef is attending courses held by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) with the aim of completing the IATA Diploma.

Youssef qualified in Egypt since 2016, is working on his UK qualification and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb).

Arabic and English

Youssef holds a Master’s Degree in Legal Practice, with a special focus on Competition Law, from the University of Westminster and an LLB in Law with Honours from the University of East Anglia.

Youssef’s LLB and LLM have been recognised by the Supreme Council for Universities as equivalent to an Undergraduate Degree and a Master’s Degree, respectively, under Egyptian law.
