Managing Partner

Hazim A. Rizkana is the Managing Partner of Rizkana & Partners. Rizkana specialises in arbitration and litigation, with an emphasis on proceedings to seek the recognition and enforcement of arbitral awards and foreign judgments, banking & finance, aircraft finance, mergers & acquisitions, competition, securities, and trademarks & patents. Rizkana focuses on several industries including TMT, aviation, construction, hospitality, real-estate, oil & gas, and renewable energy. Apart from assisting and representing Fortune 500 and multinational companies in executing high-value deals, he has consistently been invited to assist in drafting, reviewing, and amending laws, and has previously participated in doing so for the Telecommunication Law, the Banking Law, the Acquisition Rules under the Capital Market Law, the Mediation Law, and the amendments to the Competition Law and the Arbitration Law. Before establishing Rizkana & Partners, he spent 28 years with an international law firm in its Riyadh and Cairo offices, where he used to head the Dispute Resolution, Aviation, and IP Practices and was co-sharing the Banking and Finance Practice of the firm’s latter office. He also spent several years as counsel and board member for two of the largest banks in Egypt.

Graduated from Zagazig University in 1982 with a B.A. in law and received a Master of Law degree from the McGeorge School of Law (UOP) in 1986. He was admitted to the Egyptian Bar Association in 1982, and is currently admitted before the Court of Cassation in Egypt. In 1985 Hazim was registered as a patent and trademark agent.
