Career

Salma specializes in commercial litigation and arbitration across a variety of industries including real estate, infrastructure, construction, manufacturing, shareholders, banking, commercial, and contractual disputes. She has served as counsel and tribunal secretary in arbitration proceedings, both ad hoc and before the most prominent arbitral institutions.

Salma has also handled contentious matters under several jurisdictions in the Middle East, advising major developers, consultants, sub-contractors, and contractors in different types of construction projects, including matters based on the FIDIC forms.

In addition, Salma has advised clients on issues of public international law and the protection of foreign investments. Her experience also extends to the drafting and negotiation of commercial contractual terms and various types of agreements, as well as the provision of advice on risk mitigation and dispute avoidance. Salma is a RICS Accredited Mediator.

Salma is a member of the IBA Mediation and International Construction Projects Committees, and a member of the LCIA Young International Arbitration Group (YIAG).

Education

Salma studied Public International Law at the Hague Academy of International Law, obtained her Legal Business French Diploma from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Paris (CCIP), her LLB from Alexandria University, and her master’s degree in international relations from Science Po Grenoble.
