Ismail Lamie is a senior associate with Meysan. He specializes in disputes resolution with a focus on arbitration, complex litigation, investor-State disputes, international trade, competition and sports law.

Ismail advises multinational companies in a wide range of industry sectors, on antitrust and competition and trade law issues. In the antitrust and competition law area, he is experienced with cartels, price fixing, and market division as well as abuse of dominance and compliance issues. Ismaile also works extensively on trade disputes related to customs, dumping, and safeguard measures. He has additional expertise providing compliance advice to clients, including in the areas of anti-bribery, compliance investigations, dawn raids, and unfair competition. He provides assistance in mergers and acquisitions transactions to obtain regulatory approvals and advise on related compliance with competition laws.

Represented a German multinational automotive corporation in an internal investigation related to potential violations to the Egyptian Competition Law and other Egyptian Laws. Represented an American multinational technology company in connection with investigations by Egyptian Competition Authority (ECA). Successfully defended the Confederation of African Football (CAF) in a precedent-setting investigation before the COMESA Competition Appeals Board. Represented a major Spanish coal exporter and its local Egyptian distributor in several CRCICA arbitrations seated in Cairo, Egypt, with respect to disputes relating to the floatation decree issued by the Central Bank of Egypt. Acted for a Spanish steel exporter in a CRCICA arbitration seated in Cairo against an Egyptian gas company in relation to a tender in Egypt. Represented an Indian pipes manufacturer and exporter in a CRCICA arbitration seated in Cairo, Egypt against an Egyptian gas company in relation to a tender in Egypt Acted for a major oil and gas multinational in seven CRCICA arbitrations seated in Cairo, Egypt in relation to their distribution network in Egypt. Represented a major French gaming company in a CRCICA arbitration seated in Cairo in relation to its service-code provision agreement with its Egyptian service provider. Acted for a foreign investor in a major M&A dispute under the auspices of CRCICA and seated in Cairo against an Egyptian investor. Represented a foreign investor in a major M&A dispute under the auspices of CRCICA and seated in Cairo against a purchaser in a share and purchase agreement governed by English law. Acted for a multinational contracting company in two CRCICA arbitrations seated in Cairo against its subcontractor in relation to a project in Egypt.
