Career

Stevan is a Senior Partner and a founder of Dimitrijević and Partners. Prior to founding Dimitrijević and Partners in 2016, Stevan served for 10 years as a regional partner for Bosnia and Herzegovina in one of the largest law firms in the Balkans region. Prior to that, he gained an extensive experience practicing in the banking sector of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Greece.

During his career as a practicing Attorney, Stevan has led a number of large-scale energy and infrastructure projects and numerous M&A deals, both related to inbound and outbound investments. He also represents clients in complex litigation and arbitration cases. As a strong litigator with an extremely pragmatic approach, Stevan will lead you either to the final stage of any dispute or to practical settlement if that is the client’s priority. Stevan also serves as an arbitrator with an experience in panels in Bosnia and Herzegovina but also internationally. His engagement as a counsel has included investment arbitration cases, in different stages.

Stevan is a member of the Bar Association of the Republic of Srpska as well as member of the International Bar Association (IBA). Stevan is a member of Presidency of the Foreign Trade Court of Arbitration of the Republika Srpska Chamber of Commerce and Industry and is on the official list of arbitrators appointed by the Republika Srpska Foreign Trade Chamber. He serves on the International Trade in Legal Services Committee of the International Bar Association (IBA) and is also a member of the Associated European Energy Consultants (AEEC), and active in the European Cartel Damage Alliance (ECDA). Stevan is also a member of the Arbitration Association in Serbia.

Stevan co-founded the Recreational Running Club that that established the first half-marathon road race in Banja Luka. Today it is considered and appreciated as a traditional city event. He is still an active running enthusiast.

Education

Stevan is a graduate at University of Belgrade, Faculty of Law where he earned his LL.B. He finished his Master’s studies focusing on investment arbitration, with a thesis titled: “Legal Position of the Multilateral Investment Court in the Law of the European Union, Faculty of Law, University of Banja Luka – Master of Laws (LL.M.) (2020).
He is currently finishing his PhD research in the field of Private International Law and investment arbitration – focusing on the protection of foreign investments, procedural, and substantive aspects. Approved doctoral dissertation project in the field of mediation in investment arbitration.
