Dave Mertens regularly publishes and lectures on distribution law and commercial intermediaries, market practices and insolvency. Within the firm, he mainly focuses on these matters. In addition, he works part-time at the law faculty of the University of Antwerp. From 2012 to 2018 he taught the subject "Comparative, European and International Trade Law" (1st and 2nd Master) as a guest lecturer.
Dave joined the law firm Schoups in 2004 until 2005. Subsequently, he obtained his doctorate as Doctor of Law with a dissertation on "Protection of Goodwill". He rejoined the firm in 2010.
