Axel is responsible for insolvency administration in Leipzig. He began his professional career in 1994 with the Leipzig law firm Striewe & Partner Rechtsanwaelte and then became a junior partner at Haarmann, Hemmelrath & Partner from 1999 until 2004. From 2004 until 2017 he was partner with Thierhoff Müller & Partner. Axel has been a specialist lawyer for insolvency law since 2010.

For more than 15 years, Axel has been regularly appointed by the Insolvency Court of Leipzig as insolvency expert, trustee, preliminary insolvency administrator and insolvency administrator.

The main practice areas are insolvency proceedings, insolvency law related advice in turnaround and restructuring cases as well as insolvency advice of parties involved in insolvency proceedings. Axel has special industry expertise in the publishing and printing industry, the service and the transport and logistics sector.

The close interaction of legal and commercial expertise creates a particular strength of Andersen‘s insolvency department in business continuing trading, insolvency plans and debtor-in-possession proceedings.

Axel is regularly lecturing on insolvency topics at the vhs-Bundesverband für Wohnen und Stadtentwicklung e. V. (municipal bodies and environmental authorities) and co-author of the manual on restructuring (Handbuch „Unternehmenssanierung“) edited by Michael Thierhoff and Renate Müller.
