Career

After studying law at the Humboldt University in Berlin and the Charles University in Prague, Cord took part in a supplementary course in business law at the University of Hamburg. He completed his legal clerkship at Kammergericht in Berlin. Before joining Andersen, Cord was an Attorney and Councel at Luther. He was admitted to the bar in 2007.

Cord advises on all matters relating to employment law, including the strategic and economic aspects involved, in many cases also jointly with other transaction lawyers in a team.

Cord is specialized in providing employment law advice during transactions and during the subsequent integration and restructuring of companies, including the areas of codetermination, staff reductions, harmonization of conditions of employment, and company pension schemes. His business includes advising companies on an ongoing basis on works constitution law issues. Within this context, he frequently conducts negotiations with works councils and also acts as an assessor on conciliation boards. Cord provides comprehensive advice on drafting employment contracts (e.g. variable remuneration models) and terminating the legal relations between companies and their directors and officers and employees. In addition, Cord is a highly experienced litigation lawyer who regularly appears before labor and civil courts.
