Position

Adv. Andrey Nickel specializes in Antitrust and Competition Law and regularly advises clients with respect to a broad range of antitrust and competition issues, such as restrictive trade practices, mergers and abuse of dominant market positions. Adv. Nickel also advises clients on matters related to other competition legislation, such as the Law for Promoting Competition in the Food Sector and the Law for Promotion of Competition and Reduction of Concentration.

Adv. Nickel is highly experienced in litigating cases before the Competition Tribunal, a special instance that is charged with adjudicating the ICA’s decisions on appeal.

Finally, Adv. Nickel has unique experience in providing tailor-made solutions to large corporations dealing with new restrictions imposed by the Law for Promotion of Competition and Reduction of Concentration, an innovative and globally unprecedented law that requires separation between businesses and financial institutions, and requires Israeli regulators to consult with the ICA on public tenders and licensing decisions.

Career

Prior to joining KRB, Adv. Nickel worked at the legal department of the ICA as head of team covering the food and agriculture sectors. During his term at the ICA, Adv. Nickel led the legal team on some of the most prominent cases, headed several litigation cases before the Competition Tribunal (including complex mergers, monopoly and abuse of dominant position enforcement cases and precedent declaration of oligopoly case), and took part in various advocacy efforts.

Adv. Nickel also served as a Board Member of the Foundation for Financing Class Actions at the Ministry of Justice and was the ICA’s focal person for private enforcement of Antitrust Law issues.

Adv. Nickel serves as a Chair of Competition and Antitrust committee of Israel Bar Association (Tel Aviv District).
