Barış focuses on energy and infrastructure finance, banking and finance, and project finance. His experience includes advising on the development, financing, and privatization of power and infrastructure projects, covering various models available under Turkish law, including build-operate, build-operate-transfer, transfer-of-operational-rights models, and combinations thereof, as well as new licensing regimes. His work also includes advising on nuclear power projects, including the Sinop Nuclear Power Plant Project based on the host government agreement model, and on the Boyabat Power Plant Project, the largest private dam project in Turkey. Before founding Ertekin, Barış worked as a partner at a leading Turkish law firm and in the legal department of a multinational bank. He has acted for Turkish and international banks in major financing transactions, including the financing of the Kalyon Karapınar YEKA-1 solar power plant project. Barış is ranked as a leading lawyer by IFLR1000 and recommended by Legal 500 in the areas of projects and project finance.
