Career

Sarah joined TLT’s Belfast practice in 2016 and specialises in planning and environmental law.

This involves public and administrative law which overlaps with her ongoing separate work for the Public Inquiries team in London on numerous high-profile government inquiries.

She has experience in the renewable energy sector and on major infrastructure projects working closely alongside partner Andrew Ryan who heads the Belfast Planning & Environment practice. Sarah’s work includes the co-ordination of judicial reviews, public inquiries, planning appeals and representation in the Magistrates Courts in relation to enforcement and environmental prosecutions.

Sarah regularly reviews complex environmental statements, negotiates section 76 planning agreements and conducts planning and environmental due diligence on clean energy and real estate transactions. She also gives strategic planning and environmental advice on a full range of planning applications.

Her experience working for developers and consultancies, local planning authorities and both planning applicants and objectors gives clients the benefit of a multifaceted perspective. Sarah’s specialism covers a broad range of sectors including future energy, public sector, commercial/retail, residential and waste management.
