Career
He has practised exclusively in Family law, throughout his career, in both jurisdictions.
Nick is well-placed to advise clients, both domestic and inter-jurisdictional, in relation to financial remedies both complex and straightforward, from modest to high net worth.
An important and increasing component of Nick’s practice includes advising on wealth protection/management and future-proofing through preparation of cohabitation, pre and post-marital agreements to protect high-value, pre-acquired assets and inter-generational wealth as part of succession planning.
Nick works closely in conjunction with clients’ financial advisory networks as part of the dispute resolution process to ensure that outcomes are secured in the most income and tax-effective manner possible. He recognises that each client has unique needs, values and priorities and seeks to provide a bespoke service to each individual matter to secure an outcome that is tailored to best suit their specific circumstances.
Nick is a member of Resolution, sitting as a member of both Resolution’s International Family Law Committee and the Bristol Financial Remedies Court User Group.
He has been recommended by The Legal 500:
In 2023 he was initially recognised as:
“a truly exceptional solicitor with both great legal knowledge and an excellent way with clients. Friendly and realistic, he is able to put clients at ease whilst managing expectations and emotions”.
In 2024 he was recognised as a ‘Rising Star’:
‘A strong team of capable family lawyers. Nick Cooper-Soderberg is a stand-out; his approachable, friendly and pragmatic nature is a real asset to TLT.’
‘Nick Cooper-Soderberg is a high quality, stand-out figure. Nick is approachable, collaborative and pragmatic. A delight to have on the other side of cases.’
Natalie Drew and Nick Cooper-Soderberg have been outstanding in handling sensitive client situations. The way they dealt with clients who are not only going through a tricky divorce, but have also been in poor health, has been second to none.’
