Career

Bill is head of Commercial services at TLT and is expert in a wide range of legal issues affecting businesses and public sector organisations.

Recognised for his skill as an adviser to the UK Government and Scottish Executive on significant funding programmes run by the Energy Saving Trust, Bill has particular expertise in the energy and renewables sector.

Bill has been inducted to the Legal 500's 'Hall of Fame' based on consistent praise from his clients over the last decade.

He advises on all aspects of competition law including merger control, dawn raids, compliance programmes, leniency applications, market investigations, state aid and procurement law.

Bringing top-level commercial expertise, Bill leads TLT's established, leading franchising team. He has led TLT's advice on major international franchise expansion work and many high-profile national and regional franchises.

He also advises the firm's public sector clients (including police, local authorities, NDPBs and central government) on commercial issues, especially procurement, state aid and commercial contracts.

He qualified as a solicitor in 1995 and joined the firm in 1997.
