Position

Sarah is a partner in the firm’s Edinburgh office, which undertakes exclusively litigation work with an emphasis on work in Scotland’s higher civil court, the Court of Session. Sarah also deals with referral work in the Court of Session for solicitors outside Edinburgh. Her focus is on work for public sector clients and major insurers. Acts for one of the UK’s largest general insurers, handling a large volume of damages claims in both the Sheriff Courts and Court of Session. Experienced in defending reparation claims involving public liability, home liability, motor and employer liability. Handles property disputes, including high-value-subrogated claims for insurers seeking to recover their outlays. Sarah also deals with commercial work in the Court of Session, including contractual claims against both public sector and non public sector organisations, intellectual property and interdict claims, as well as media work including defamation and privacy. Sarah oversees the debt recovery work in the Edinburgh office. Advises on pre-action recovery, the tracing of debtors abroad, the raising of proceedings and enforcement.
