Position
Philippa Davies is a Senior Associate in the Court of Protection team at Lester Aldridge.
Career
Philippa specialises in Court of Protection work, predominantly by providing support to Jeremy Abraham in his practice as a panel deputy for the Office of the Public Guardian, by representing the best interests of people who lack the mental capacity to represent themselves. Panel deputyship work principally concerns a person’s property and affairs, and Philippa regularly prepares applications for the Court of Protection concerning such matters as statutory wills or buying and selling properties. Philippa also assists Jeremy Abraham in his role as a deputy for people who have received personal injury awards and no longer have the capacity to deal with their financial affairs.
Philippa also acts in health and welfare matters and has worked on cases involving vulnerable older people who have been wrongfully removed from the jurisdiction, as well as concerning allegations of abuse.
Philippa also advises on all aspects of family law, particularly divorce and financial remedy proceedings. In 2019, she was shortlisted for Young Solicitor of the Year at the Family Law Awards.
Philippa qualified as a solicitor in 2015, and since then, she has specialised in family law and Court of Protection law. Before starting her training contract in 2013, Philippa worked at a top-ranked law firm as a paralegal, spending two years in catastrophic personal injury and one year assisting with high-value divorce work.
