Position

Partner and Head of Private Client Department. Shona specialises in will drafting, the creation and management of trusts, including personal injury trusts, succession planning, asset protection and tax mitigation both during lifetime and at the time of someone’s death. She is also experienced in the administration of complex and high value executries and related tax matters. Shona has expert knowledge of a broad range of matters including advance directives, powers of attorney, intervention orders, guardianship as well as access to funds orders. She has a particular interest in working with elderly and vulnerable clients and those who lack capacity and their families.

Shona advises the trustees of a number of substantial trusts whose principal beneficiary is vulnerable or disabled including those who have acquired their disability though personal injury.

The management of personal injury trusts means that Shona works closely with not only the trustees but health care professionals, case managers, local authorities, financial advisers and accountants.
