Désirée Maier focuses on white collar, compliance, and internal investigations. She advises national and international clients from various industries, in particular life sciences, on all issues of compliance.
One focus of her work lies in the set-up and management of internal compliance investigations. She has particular experience in advising during dawn raids, conducting cross-border compliance investigations, understanding the different requirements from local law, U.S. or UK law, as well as in communicating with German, U.S., and other authorities.

Die inhaltliche Expertise ergänzt man durch einen sektoriellen Fokus auf Life Sciences, Automotive, Pharma und Finance. Die Praxis steht unter der Leitung von Sebastian Lach, der gleichzeitig als Co-CEO der kanzleieigenen LegalTech-Marke ELTEMATE fungiert; Lach ist insbesondere in der Begleitung von Untersuchungen mit FCPA-, SED/DOJ-Bezug erfahren und zählt die im Life Sciences-Sektor versierte Strafrechtlerin Désirée Maier zu seinem Team. The most recent instructions pertain to alleged violations of Russia and Iran sanctions; clients also benefit from the international network regarding cross-border matters. These competencies are complemented by an industry focus on life sciences, automotive, pharmaceuticals and finance. Practice head Sebastian Lach also acts as co-CEO of the firm’s own legaltech brand ELTEMATE; Lach is particularly experienced in supporting investigations pertaining to the FCPA and SED/DOJ, and his team includes criminal lawyer Désirée Maier, who is well versed in the life sciences sector.
