John Brockland is recognized as a leading technology and intellectual property (IP) transactions lawyer. He has handled prominent matters across the full technology spectrum, representing companies ranging from startups to large multinationals in many industries.

John focuses on strategic and commercial transactions involving the development, transfer, and licensing of technology and IP assets, as well as the provision of technology-related services.

John has years of experience drafting, negotiating, and counseling on joint-development, licensing, distribution, and reseller agreements in the fields of hardware, software, semiconductors, electronic commerce, and internet services. He is also experienced in advising clients on issues related to open-source licensing models and regularly counsels on information technology and business process outsourcing arrangements.

John advises on the IP and commercial aspects of mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, carve-outs, spin-offs, and other strategic transactions.
