Career

Steven McEwan is an authority on UK financial services law and regulation. He regularly works on transactions involving insurers, reinsurers and banks, and advises on the regulatory requirements that apply to them. Examples include collateralised reinsurance, regulatory capital driven transactions, credit and market risk insurance, pension scheme de-risking transactions and transactions relating to the Lloyd's insurance market. In his advisory work, he focuses on the regulatory rules on capital and investments as they apply to insurers and banks. He is the author of numerous publications, and has been a guest presenter at conferences organised by the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, the British Insurance Law Association, the Association of Insurance Lawyers and the British Bankers Association. He is qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales and as an attorney in New York, and he holds degrees in law and mathematics.
