Career

Mark Honeywell is Head of the Charities Team as well as Joint Head of the Education Team at Lupton Fawcett. As an education specialist Mark has particular expertise in academy conversion and academy governance work and has advised a large number of schools and educational organisations on, amongst other things, conversion to academy status, establishing single and mutli-academy trusts, re-brokerages, academy trust mergers, establishment of free schools, making significant changes to academy trusts, general governance advice and trustee training.

Mark has further experience of advising independent schools, colleges and other educational organisations on governance and charity law issues.

Mark is also an experienced charity law solicitor having advised charities and not-for-profit organisations from across the sector on a broad range of issues including the establishment of new charities, incorporations, mergers, trading and the establishment of subsidiaries, amendments to governing documents and general governance advice. Mark also regularly provides trustee training sessions.

Mark is a member of the Business family group advising wealthy families and business owners on the establishment of corporate foundations and the establishment of charitable family foundations.
