Family

Richard joined the family team at Lupton Fawcett in January 2019, as a Senior Solicitor, after working for over 8 years at a firm in Huddersfield. He is based in our Sheffield office. Richard specialises in all areas of family law advising on issues including divorce, financial proceedings and a wide range of children matters.

Richard is also accredited as a family mediator with the Family Mediation Council so he is able to help couples going through a separation to discuss and agree issues that result from their separation whether in relation to the arrangements for their children or financial matters. Mediation offers a way to try and resolve issues in a cost effective and amicable way, without the need for court proceedings.

Richard provides clear and understandable advice. He is able to draw on his experience as a Solicitor, Mediator and Collaborative Lawyer to help clients find the best way forwards for them in their particular circumstances. Richard prides himself on helping clients resolve matters without going to Court. However, Richard is an effective and experienced advocate and able to guide clients through the often daunting prospect of Court proceedings where needed.

Richard is accredited by the Law Society as an expert in Family Law. He is also a member of Resolution and upholds their code of conduct, promoting a constructive and non-contentious approach to family law.
